Friendly Trails in Arizona

We are fortunate folks. As we wander the country, we encounter friends on the road who happen to have chosen the same path. The other day Jan and Geir Seger contacted us to let us know they were just a few miles east of our temporary home in Tempe, AZ.

It's always good to see them. We became friends about four years ago in Moab, Utah, when they let us tag along on 4wheeling trails with their group. Fortunately we've met along the road on a few more occasions since then. There are good times with them whether it's on a 4wheel challenge or catching up on life over a pizza and beer.
The other day we got together for lunch at the Cadallic Ranch in Tempe. After updates on our lives all around, the conversation turned to planning a day out on the trail. Geir and Jan are champion trail leaders, always giving thought to all aspects of the journey. We started off from their RV park in Florence Junction, about 20 miles east of our location in Tempe. Some new friends, Clyde and Frances, made up the day's trio.

With Jan and Geir plotting our course we were soon escaping into the landscape. It was a great day...the sunshine....the panoramic views of mountains....rocky and wet obstacles along the trail.... the Saguaro poking up all around us....the flowing valleys.... fresh spring streams.... really great company. We all had a super time, even if the trail was one on the less-challenging list. It felt good to get back out on the country's southwest trails after we've been away for a year. The scenery was exceptional. But, better than me trying to paint the picture for you, I'll let you take a look at a few snapshots of this episode. If you click on the "Friendly Trails in Arizona" title at the top of the page, you'll go to the album. Then just click on "slideshow" and the show will begin. Hope you enjoy.
